The GHIN concentrated epidemics workshop was held in London, from 22nd to 24th October. Participants included country research teams from China, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Peru and Ukraine. This four day workshop was held in Maputo, Mozambique and was hosted by the Dept of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine, Eduardo Mondlane University. The workshop was attended by teams from Angola, Lesotho, Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, Ireland, Belgium, and the UK. The aims of the workshop included:
As part of the workshop, a one day regional stakeholder dissemination meeting was held to disseminate early research findings from: Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia, as well as emerging GHIN cross-cutting findings. This special session was attended by representatives from Ministries of Health, SADC, WHO and WHO Afro and donors.
